Doctoral Researcher - Decision Support System for Preventive Conservation Strategies. Program for Institutional University Co-operation (VLIR-UOS) University of Cuenca, Ecuador

Verónica Heras was born in the Andean World Heritage city of Cuenca, Ecuador. She is an Architect (University of Cuenca 2007) and currently a PhD Student at the Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation (RLICC), K.U.Leuven. Her studies are supported by the Project “World Heritage City Preservation Management”, which is a long-term agreement between the RLICC - K.U. Leuven and the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Cuenca, in the framework of the Program for Institutional University Co-operation (VLIR-UOS). In April 2007, she was granted with a scholarship to accomplish the Master in Conservation of Monuments and Sites at the RLICC, which was successfully awarded in 2009. Her PhD research is dealing with a Decision Support System for Preventive Conservation Strategies, based on GIS and including the time factor (4D). This research is positioned under the UNESCO Chair on Preventive Conservation, Maintenance and Monitoring of Monuments and Sites.
